Warranty

Every table, shelf, wall piece and desk from Kosagu comes with a 1 year warranty, starting on the day it is delivered. It covers problems that come from how the piece was made, not from how it has been used.

What the warranty covers

  • Joints that loosen or separate under normal household use.
  • Splits or cracks that start at a joint or along a glue line and are not caused by impact.
  • Finish that peels or flakes even though the piece has been cared for as described below.
  • Hardware supplied with the piece that breaks under normal use.
  • Legs or frames that cause a table or desk to wobble even when it stands on a level floor.

What it does not cover

  • Natural features of solid wood: grain variation, knots, small surface checks, and color that slowly deepens or lightens with light exposure.
  • Seasonal movement. Wood expands a little in humid months and shrinks in dry ones; small gaps or a slight change in fit are normal.
  • Damage from water left standing, hot dishes placed straight on the surface, heaters or direct sunlight over long periods.
  • Scratches, dents, stains and wear from everyday life, pets or moving house.
  • Problems caused by incorrect assembly or wall mounting, or by loading a shelf beyond the stated limit.
  • Pieces that have been altered, repaired by someone else, or used outdoors or commercially.

Damage that happens in transit is handled separately. Please report it within 7 days of delivery as described in our Return and Refund Policy.

Making a claim

  1. Email help@kosagu.com with your order number.
  2. Tell us what is wrong and when you first noticed it.
  3. Attach clear photos or a short video showing the problem and the whole piece.

Once we confirm the issue is covered, we will send a replacement part, replace the piece, or return what you paid for it, depending on what makes sense for the problem. If a part or piece needs to come back to us, we will tell you before you ship anything.

Looking after solid wood

  • Dust with a soft dry cloth. For marks, use a cloth that is barely damp, then dry the surface straight away.
  • Use coasters, placemats and trivets. Wipe up spills quickly.
  • Keep pieces away from radiators, heating vents and long periods of strong direct sun.
  • Avoid harsh cleaners, solvents and silicone polishes; they can damage the finish.
  • Check screws and fittings now and then, especially on wall-mounted shelves, and tighten them gently if needed.
